Busy to Being 3: Practice BEing & BEfriending Yourself with Me
Welcome (back) to Busy to Being! A weekly video series where I share teachings that I have been integrating for over 15 years across a variety of disciplines, including: yoga, health coaching, workplace wellness, mindfulness, personal growth, spirituality, shadow integration, and more. This series is sure to shape-shift and evolve as it moves through me and I gain insight into what you all need, so please do share your questions and reflections in the comments section below the video.
These teachings have helped me to slow down and take time to nurture my wellbeing so I can access my inner knowing and approach the inevitable ups and downs of life feeling nourished and resilient. I hope you find meaning and support here within the context of your own life, and if you think of anyone who could benefit, it would be a big help if you could please share.
In my third video below I talk about what it means to Be and guide you through a short practice (using the acronym I developed SPACE) that you can use anytime you notice internal busyness or don’t feel in union with yourself.
(And if you missed the second video where I share about busyness as an internal state, why rushing is self-perpetuating, and what you can do to start to notice this unproductive loop within yourself, you can find it here.)
Use S.P.A.C.E. anytime to settle into Being
- Slow/Stop (what you’re doing or thinking)
- Presence (notice your breath)
- Awareness (notice how you’re holding your body and where/what you feel)
- Center (inhale deeply into your solar plexus, then heart)
- Earth (feel you feet on the ground)
Have you ever tried to learn something new? Of course you have! At first you really had to practice it, block time out in your schedule, do it even when you didn’t want to, and so on. Being is no different. When you have a ritual of Being you will eventually feel it spill over into your daily life and interactions and you’ll start to feel all of the benefits I talk about in the video (and more, unique to you).
And, if you need more support in ritualizing Being my recorded yoga, breath-work and meditation classes are free the OmBody community. Click here to subscribe and get the password.
Thanks for Being,
